This was the home of Nettie and Wally Pelfrey - my maternal grandparents. They had three children - Sarah Belle Pelfrey, William (Bill) Mason Pelfrey, and Clyde Clifton Pelfrey. They alkso had 11 grandchildren - Linda Renay Smith; Sherry Adele Smith; Jackie Keith Pelfrey; Barry Stephen Smith; Jerry Michael Pelfrey; Dwayne Clyde Pelfrey; Tony Darrel Pelfey; Jeffrey Clifton Pelfrey; Sandra Elaine Pelfrey; William Clifton Pelfrey; and Lana Jean Pelfrey.

The home is definitely in disrepair (and should probably be torn down) but the memories of love and happiness shared in that old house can never be lost or forgotten. My grandparents were decent, honest, caring people. They were known to many as the School Teacher (Nettie) and the Grocer (Wally Pelfrey) and the store still stands, somewhat proudly and yet in disrepair, across the road from the house.

  4. Nettie and Wally were my grandparents.
Wally passed before I was born. My most treasured memories were visiting my grandma Pelfrey. She spoiled us and was always so happy to see us come and visit. And always cried when we went home. I still love the sound of a wood screen door slamming shut. And I want a front porch with a wood floor . Every time I hear someone walk on a wood floor it takes me back to my grandma's.
Those wonderful memories will be with me forever. Hope my grandma in heaven knows how special she was to me and how much I love her. Lana (Pelfrey)Ponce
